20. Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a lovely folk album that echoes with images of mountains and valleys. "Meadowlarks" is a gem of a song with a simplicity and gentleness that is rare for today's music.

Many of the tunes have a certain fragility and vulnerability that gives me chills. "Blue Ridge Mountains" and "Your Protector" are jaunty, yet never abandoning the sensitivity and strong connection to nature imagery that seems to be a signature trademark for this band.

The harmonies are large and open, blossoming into something very nice indeed.
