Post Post by Björk
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nobody has a voice like Björk. She is incredible. I recently listened to an interview on a podcast where she spoke about her voice in terms of space and landscape. I thought it was a really beautiful notion how her experiences walking and singing in the wilds of Iceland as a child has shaped and informed her voice in some ways. You can really hear this in "Enjoy", which is a mix of primitive, yet futuristic rhythms.

This is such a cool album. "Army of Me" is so strange and fantastic. The music video is one of my favorites directed by one of my favorite film makers and artists, Michel Gondry. Also, she does a fabulous cover of Betty Hutton's "Blow a Fuse" (retitled on this album as "It's Oh So Quiet").

Her singing is hugely emotional, playful, and spirited. The instrumentals and digital manipulations are gorgeously odd. Björk is a kind of genius.

I love her creativity.
